Class Descriptions

  • Private Pilates

    • Private sessions

      Private sessions are the fastest way to progress in Pilates. A B.A.S.I certified Pilates instructor will work one-on-one with you on the full range of equipment, including the Reformer, Cadillac, chair and ladder barrel. The trainer will adjust the intensity of the work to the level appropriate for you. Private sessions are 55 minutes long. You can purchase Private Pilates Sessions through our front desk or online. You can purchase a Beginner Special which includes 5 Privates and 5 Equipment Classes. This can be purchased online or at the studio, for online please go to the pricing page. Offer is for first time visitors to The Pilates Studio. You can purchase a One-Time private session for $35.00 for your first time to try us out.

      Duet Pilates sessions are available upon request. Please call the front desk for more information.

      Come stop by the studio or call us at 253-853-6200, if you not able to come during office hours please email us at pilatesbodyllc@msn.com. For those who would like to get a jump start on Pilates, please fill out the form below and someone will call you within 24 hours to schedule your initial Private consult. Additionally, please fill out the New Client Form in advance of your first visit and bring it with you.

  • Group Reformer

    This class uses the Pilates Reformer apparatus and is 55 minutes long. In this class you will work through a choreographed routine of challenging exercises meant for a champion. You will strengthen, stretch and lengthen your body. There are countless movements in the Group Pilates Reformer classes and these are performed seated, standing, on all fours, or lying on your back, side or front. Prerequisites: 5 private sessions and instructor approval. Other Reformer Options:

    • Group Reformer-limit 8 students per class.

      This level is for those who are new and old to Pilates.

    • Aging with Pilates Level- Limit 8 students per class.

      A class with you in mind. Developed to work on balance, posture, strength and to help stop the efforts of osteoporosis. We work on equipment, ball and chair exercises. This is a great class to become introduced to Pilates. Great for beginners who have body limitations that require a little extra time and attention.

    • High Intensity Reformer- limit 8 students per class.

      This class builds on the exercises from the Beginner/Intermediate level class. The exercises become more complex and challenging, and the pace of the class faster-therefore more strength, stamina and coordination are required. (Prerequisites: 5 Privates and 1 year of Pilates reformer classes).

  • Group Cadillac

    • Group Cadillac

      Cadillac classes are designed to build core strength, create uniform muscle strength and flexibility, and to provide a full body workout. Adjustable spring tension helps you to tap into your core and develop longer, leaner muscles. Prerequisites: 5 Privates sessions and instructor approval.

  • Circuit

    • Circuit

      In Pilates Circuit classes, the trainer takes you through a "circuit," spending time on the Reformer, Mat, Cadillac and Chair. Props, such as the foam roller, theraband, magic circles and exercise balls and weights may be added. Prerequisites: Beginner Reformer.

  • Exo Chair

    • Exo Chair

      The Pilates Exo Chair delivers a unique and vigorous, full body workout. With a spilt pedal and added-in functional resistance kit, this gives you a host of new exercises not possible with any other chair. Prerequisites: 5 private sessions.

  • Booty Barre

    The Booty Barre workout is a uniquely fun, high-energy group fitness experience, which fuses exercise techniques from the worlds of Pilates, Dance, Cardio-Sculpting Moves and Yoga. You'll firm, tighten and tone your whole body without adding bulk, and you'll burn mega-calories along the way.

    • About The Booty Barre

      A sexy, energetic 55-minute DANCE-A-THON that combines the TONING benefits of yoga, Pilates and dance to STRENGTHEN AND STRETCH the body to HELP YOU LOOK (AND FEEL) 10 years younger. (And get this: you don't need any dance experience and you certainly don't need a partner!

      who is a regular contributor to leading health and fitness magazines worldwide and regularly appears on morning breakfast and lifestyle shows in USA and the United Kingdom.

  • How Often Should I Take a Class?

    If you do RPM two to three times per week you'll feel fitter, stronger and leaner.

  • A Typical Class

    Your RPM instructor will lead you and the pack through a journey choreographed to inspirational music and incorporating riding positions and speeds to suit the terrain.

    • At the beginning, the pace is easy and the resistance light, to get your legs warmed up.

    • Speed and intensity increase as you work towards your top personal pace.

      You'll warm up your climbing muscles, then hit a series of full-on hill climbs that test your strength and cycling time trials that test your endurance. There will be time for recovery, just enough to give you the energy to push through the next challenge.

    • At the end of the class you will finish the journey and ride home together.

      Recovery is the name of the game, including the all-important stretch.

  • What Do I Need to Bring?

    • Comfortable workout clothes.

      Cycling shorts will make the ride more comfortable, but they're not essential. Check out the Les Mills RPM clothing range, designed with each of our classes in mind.

    • Gym shoes. We recommend cycling shoes, but check with your instructor if you need more specific help.

    • Drink bottle.

    • Towel. You're going to get sweaty.

  • Yoga

    • Power Yoga

      This class is a vigorous flowing yoga that combines movement synchronized with breath and hatha alignment principals. This class is appropriate for those with a steady work out regimen or at least six months of solid yoga practice. However, beginners are welcome and modifications will be given. Mind-body connection will become more important as the movements become more advanced, and students will learn in depth breathing (pranayama) and begin to explore some yogic concentration principals to aid their physical practice (asana). Power yoga will leave you feeling invigorated, refreshed, and will calm your mind and help you get through the day with more clarity.

    • YOGA for the Young at Heart

      Join us for class Fridays 10:30 AM. Remember what it feels like to be youthfully open and flexible? Let's do that again! Yoga is a form of exercise that adapts to your needs and abilities that it can be done even by Senior Citizens. Yoga deals with your whole being. It makes your body fitter, the mind calmer and more relaxed. Yoga is also beneficial in the prevention and control of common health and emotional problems that is linked with Old Age. It helps you in becoming more in touch with yourself and your body enabling you to accept who you are and the state you are in which creates a positive approach in life.

    • Prenatal Yoga

      Prenatal Yoga: classic yoga poses have been selected specifically for use during pregnancy. Poses to help relieve the aches and pains of pregnancy, from morning sickness to early labor pains, are included. This class will help with strength and alignment as well as preparing your body and mind for the birthing process. Class runs 75 minutes and modifications will be offered. This class is appropriate for all levels.

  • Ballroom

    • Beginning Level Ballroom Dance Classes

      Tuesdays at 7:00 PM. Sign up for a 5 week series and learn the Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, Swing & Others. No partner necessary. Certified NDCA Instructor with over 30 years experience - Rick Gossard.
